Vanity Shipping Explained: What It Takes To Deliver Excellence To Your Doorstep

Bathroom vanities are made of only the finest materials. While they practically last a lifetime, the first step is to make sure it gets to you intact. After all, what use is having a marble countertop if there’s a crack right down the middle?

To avoid any complications or disappointments, we’ve put together this handy little guide. You’ll find out more about what to expect when a beautiful vanity is sent on its way to your home.

Preparing Your Vanity for Delivery

Getting a vanity delivered to your home is no easy feat. It takes a lot of coordination on our end to ensure your product arrives in the best condition possible.

Once you’ve placed an order on our website, the team at the warehouse can get started on preparing your vanity for delivery. They locate all of the parts needed to put together your unit and then carefully pack them in cardboard boxes and wooden crates on pallets to protect the parts while in transit. This process can take a couple of days as each individual part is carefully selected, packed and prepared to be shipped out from the warehouse.

Since we ship very large items across the United States, it may not always be possible to give you an exact delivery date and time upon receiving your order. But don’t worry, vanity kits are usually shipped out within three days of your order and can take anywhere from three to fourteen days to arrive at your home.

Also, when you’re typing in the delivery address, be sure to check twice! Rerouting deliveries is a complicated affair and fees will apply.

Do note that our shipping partners can only offer curbside delivery (more on that later). Fortunately, you’ll be able to track your package once it has left the warehouse. You can stay updated on its progress once the tracking number has been activated.

Tracking Your Package

Upon ordering your vanity, you will receive a confirmation but the tracking number may not be active yet. It will only activate once the vanity has left the warehouse and is on its way to you. During this time, feel free to get in touch with us for an update on the progress.

Once your tracking number is active you’ll be able to follow your item and see the estimated delivery day. Does that mean you have to wait all day for your vanity to arrive? Nope! That’s because all deliveries are made by appointment.

Our delivery partners will always call to set an appointment before heading your way. Pick the most convenient date and time to receive the package so that it doesn’t get in the way of your busy schedule. There won’t be any surprises since the carrier absolutely won’t show up without an appointment.

What to Expect on Delivery Day

On delivery day, the driver will arrive at the pre-arranged time to drop off your item. We can’t stress enough that you keep your appointment. If for any reason, you’re not available to receive your order, it will be shipped back and you’ll be liable for return shipping and restocking fees.

The delivery personnel will have 30 minutes to deliver your vanity. The drivers are monitored by GPS by their dispatcher, so they are usually under pressure. Sometimes, their rush may seem inconvenient to the customer, so we ask for patience: drivers will be penalized for being late to the next delivery appoitnment. Drivers are also not familiar with our shipping terms, so they will not be aware that we are asking you to inspect your delivery, or that you can reject the whole shipment in case of visible damage. We ask customers to know what to look for and contact us with any questions.

Because of insurance liabilities, our delivery partners will not be allowed to enter your home. They might be able to help you bring the package inside your garage. If you live in an apartment or a building, it’s best to have someone around to help on the delivery day.

If you’re planning on hiring installers to assemble and fit your vanity, we recommend having installers come in only after the vanity has been delivered and inspected for any damage. This will save you from hiring professionals that won’t be able to do their job in case of unforeseeable delays or shipping damage in need of replacement.

Checking For Damage

Vanities are very heavy yet delicate products. Shipping damage unfortunately happens at times. Customers should reject delivery of badly damaged boxes and contact us ASAP to receive a replacement.

Make sure to ask the delivery personnel to note anything you find on the Proof of Delivery paperwork (POD) and have it signed by them. Also, remember to keep a copy of the paperwork for yourself. This is an important step for us to be able to replace any damaged parts you report.

When inspecting the delivery, the driver can usually wait until you’ve checked everything over. However, if they are unable to as they’re pressed for time (they have a lot of deliveries in a day!), then make sure this is stated on the Proof of Delivery. Write something like, “Driver unable to wait for inspection – possible concealed damage – subject to inspection,” or something to that effect.

You should be really picky about the state of your delivery – we want your vanity to arrive in only the best condition. Take note of even the smallest of rips or tears in packaging on the POD and be as meticulous as you can.

The things to look out for might include:

  • If your shipment arrived with no wooden pallet
  • If the shrink wrap is torn
  • If the box is dented, dirty or wet
  • If your shipment arrived with no straps
  • If they are any cracks, chips, scratches or damage to the product of any kind.

From the time of delivery, you then have 4days report any concealed damage. If you do find damage, take some photos of it and send them to us along with some information about the issue. We’ll take care of it replace the parts for free.

It is very important that any damages be reported not later than 4 days after delivery. After this timeframe, shippers insurance expires and cancels our ability to issue a free replacement.

Returning and Cancelling Your Order

If you aren’t 100% happy with your vanity or need to return it for reasons other than shipping damage, you absolutely can. But with such large and heavy items, we do have to charge a return shipping and handling fee, as well as a 25% restocking fee. You’ll have 28 days from delivery date to request a return from support@modernbathhouse.com

If the shipment is refused at delivery for any reason other than damages or a shipping error, then please be aware that it will be treated as product return. That means it’s subject to the same fees above.

For canceling an order, you can do so easily until the product has been shipped (you’ll be notified when the product has been shipped). However, once the product is on the truck and in transit, the cancellation will have to be treated the same as a return, and again, you’ll be required to pay the fees.

Our priority is to get a beautiful new vanity to your home without a scratch. We want it to be the most convenient and hassle-free delivery experience possible for everyone involved. And as you can see from our process, the bases are covered. All you have to do is check out our collection of bathroom vanities and pick the one you like the most.
